Jewish Camping

In addition to our in house summer camp for preschoolers BHS supports the following summer camps to extend the exploration of a child’s Jewish identity & education into the summer.

The URJ Joseph Eisner Camp for Living Judaism in Great Barrington, MA, runs programs for campers from 2nd through 12th grade. The URJ Crane Lake Camp in West Stockbridge, MA, runs programs for campers 3rd through 11th grade. Both camps allow “campers to embrace the challenge of learning new skills in athletics, aquatics, the arts, and adventure and nature programs…while they immerse themselves in a wide range of innovative Jewish educational pursuits and creative spiritual experiences.”

A Camp for Everyone! URJ Crane Lake Camp is a camp where everyone feels at home. We strive to make every camper’s experience nurturing and fulfilling, and we do so by making sure that every child feels welcomed and supported.

At URJ 6 Points Sci-Tech Academy, scientific inquiry meets fun! Girls and boys entering grades 5-10 develop hypotheses, perform experiments, and test out new technologies in a supportive, vibrant Reform, Jewish community located just outside of Boston’s science and technology corridor.

A special story from our Rabbi about his camp experience:
As many of you have heard me tell the story before, my wife Deb and I first met at the UAHC (now URJ) Eisner Camp Institute for Living Judaism in Great Barrington, Massachusetts as teenagers. We met again almost two decades later on the campgrounds at the wedding of close friends, also former campers and staff members.  Having spent over a decade at Eisner as a camper then staff member, I have also served as a rabbinic faculty member in previous years, and drop in every summer at both Eisner and Crane Lake to say hello to our campers (and my own kids).
