conversion

BHS suggests visiting URJ's website for conversion classes and information.

Rabbi Lippe tutors students who would like to convert to Judaism.  He would ask that a prospective student not contact him until he or she has completed at least two-thirds of one of the below courses. He can be reached at  This email address is being protected from spambots. 1. The 92nd Street Y (formally called Derekh Torah) is the most intense, lengthy [30wk] and expensive. I highly recommend it but it isn't for everyone. [By the way there is a Brooklyn based section of this program.]

Please contact Leana Moritt, director of Jewish Outreach in the Bronfman Center for Jewish Life, at 212.415.5767 or email for information or to schedule an interview.

Payment plans and scholarship assistance are available. In case of early withdrawal, an 80% refund will be granted through the fifth class. After that, no refunds will be granted.

Note: The first class of each Derekh Torah course starts at 6:45pm in the lobby of the Y lobby for a tour. All other classes meet weekly from 7:30-9:30 pm, unless otherwise noted.
