Notable for our diversity--of background, perspective, observance, lifestyle, and age—we are united by a commitment to form and sustain a warm, caring and inclusive Reform Jewish community. Our members have shared celebration, lifelong learning, service, and worship in growing numbers since our founding in 1960.
With an abiding dedication to the principle of Tikkun Olam, we are proud of our efforts to care for each other and the world around us. Our Chesed Committee makes sure every member is supported in times of need; our Social Action Committee reaches beyond our own walls to the larger community. Our Homeless Shelter, started by a congregant 25 years ago, provides hospitality to homeless women in the winter months. Our Parenting Center welcomes young families to learn and grow with us.
From an original group of 85 members, several of whom continue to worship with us, we now have over 330 member units (well over 1,000 souls) made up of families, couples and singles living in Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan, yet we remain a close and intimate community. Our many committees, open to all members, and our full calendar of programs and events reflect our diverse interests as a congregation. Please join us!
