Education is a cornerstone of Jewish life, and of life at the Brooklyn Heights Synagogue. Our education programs include learning opportunities at all levels of interest, knowledge and ability. Our on-going schedule of Parenting Center programs geared to the needs of young children and their families and Lifelong Learning programs for adults are open to the entire community; you need not be a member to study with us. Enrollment in our Preschool, also open to non-members, is selective with preference given to children of members. Enrollment in our Religious School is reserved for children of members. Lifelong learning is important to all of us. Our programs of Jewish Education offered by the Parenting Center, Preschool, Religious School and Continuing Education Program, reflect our commitment to a lifetime of Jewish learning, exploration and experience. From introductory classes in Hebrew for different ages, to hands-on courses in making Shabbat at home, to guest scholars from leading universities, we offer frequent, intellectually stimulating learning opportunities.
Our faculty are not only among the very best in their fields, thanks to our access to New York City’s institutions for pedagogy and higher learning, but are also students themselves, and they bring a dedication to continued learning. Rather than merely teaching about Judaism, we teach how to do and be Jewishly. |
